The docking station plugs in your tablet and peripherals (monitor, keyboard, mouse, and headset).
Peripherals and Docking Station
The docking station allows you to connect various peripherals to your tablet. These include:
- Keyboard (any USB port)
- Mouse (any USB port)
- USB Headset
- Monitor (Mini DisplayPort, one of the two center ports on the back of the docking station)
IMPORTANT: Depending on the model of monitor you are provided, the default cables included in the box are not compatible with the docking station. These cables can be discarded or returned to IT. A separate cable is included in your home setup to connect the monitor to the Mini DisplayPort on the Surface Pro Docking Station. This is most likely a HDMI to USB-C able or a DisplayPort to USB-C cable as pictured below:
Powering Up
Prior to powering up, please take one more opportunity to go through and verify all connections. Please do not skip this step, it is very important to verify that everything is connected correctly. If you need assistance from IT, the first steps we will be taking will be to walk through every connection and verify that they are all plugged into the correct ports as described in this document. Once all connections are verified, you may power on all units.

Plug all power adapters in. Most devices automatically power up and do not have any “on” switch.
